The MAX34460 is a system monitor that is capable ofmanaging up to 12 power supplies. The power-supplymanager monitors the power-supply output voltages andconstantly checks for user-programmable overvoltageand undervoltage thresholds. If a fault is detected,the device automatically shuts down the system in anorderly fashion. The device can sequence the suppliesin any order at both power-up and power-down. Withthe addition of external current DACs, the device hasthe ability to close-loop margin the power-supply outputvoltages up or down to a user-programmable level. Thedevice contains an internal temperature sensor and cansupport up to four external remote temperature sensors.Once configured, the device can operate autonomouslywithout any host intervention.
